Will Apple take over the world?
As the release of the new Apple iPhone comes up, it's been a joke that apple is going to take over the world with it's technology. So far, we've seen that technology has it's good sides, and it's bad. At the world's fair, they had all this technology that was supposed to be for the good. Then World War II shows up and we turn out with the atomic bomb.
In the last 20 years, we've created arcade games, to the Atari home system, laptops, gaming consols like the new PS3 and Nintendo Wii, TVs that use mirrors to make a better picture, and countless of other things inclucing actual intelligent robots (note: all of this shown at the Consumer Electronic Show at the begining of January this year).

I believe that will never happen. I think this idea came out of some Sci-Fi movie. We still make technology and program it, so unless someone is extremely stupid, I don't think that will ever happen.
But technology is a good thing. In old days, if there was a bomb in the building, people would have to go in it and possibly be killed if the bomb went off. But, now we can send in a robot that can stop a bomb, with keeping officers or agents at a safe distance.
I believe one day something similar to the atom bomb could come. I was watching a program the other day about a bomb that splits up into 40 smaller bombs and can travel over 300 yard long killing everything. So I believe it is only time before something like this could destroy targets miles long insted of yards. It is a very scary thought and hopefully will never come true.

I believe that anything could happen. The technology and knoweldge of scientists today could lead to weapons, time machines (that people could never come back from,) transporters (that could mess up their molecular composition.) All of these things could cause death to many people. I hope that the world doesn't come to that.

I think we will have control over what we build and create but if something goes wrong that we might end up with a robot dictator. But we will get over it. Also technology is a good and bad thing. If we become too dependent on it we will have things to chew our food and just put it in us. We will have no need for 5-star restaurants or top chefs. Robots or other things could take also all jobs. We already have laser optical scanners that can see at a microscopic level and inspect our products for us. But technology will also help us with things humans can’t do. Like construction and other jobs that need precision or heavy lifting or other things like that. So as long as we don’t abuse technology or over use it I think it will help us.

I believe that most modern day technological advances are overall beneficial to the world. Weather it is used for "good" or "evil," it is still purposeful mostly and helpful in accomplishing a task. The idea that technology can be evil is very relavant today with war, and terrorism. Technology's good mostly over shadows its bad. I agree with Paris on the fact that Technology saves lives, like the robot example, but a man had to build technology to create the bomb that a robot would difuse. Overall, technology is a double edge sword that pushes the world foward to greatness, while holding it back with the destruction of weapons and war.
I think that one of the big risks of all this technology IS indeed that it will get into the hands of the wrong person and be used to harm people. I don't think there is any way that us as humans can avoid those people that will abuse technology. Hopefully the new discoveries will be used in positive ways like new medical treatments or making life easier with more online abilities, but there definitely is the possibility that some crazy guy will get his hands on some formula that can destroy the world. We just need to be careful with who gets what information, and if we take the correct precautions I believe that technology will remain developing mostly for the greater good.
